Names???

We are on our way to Rockville to transfer two 8-celled, Grade 1 (highest grade) embryos. I need names. My sweet Matthew and his mates were Red, Blue, Yellow (and Green and Purple and Pink) Fish, respectively. I can't think of anything I like enough for these two. So, help a girl out? I'll even make a donation to your choice of charity if you give me my favorite. Remember...I am praying we'll be using these names for about twenty weeks...I just can't think that way right now but want to be sure they have names when I introduce them later!!!

  2. How exciting, Lori! I was looking back at some of my blog posts around this stage, and I was going to write and tell you that I only had one 4-celled, one 3-celled, and 2 2-celled the day before the ET, and that by ET day, we had 2 Grade-1 8-celled!!! I'm praying so hard for your little ones...BOTH of your little ones to make it. If you've been reading my blog, you can see that I'm horribly indecisive with fetal nicknames...I can't seem to stick with any of them...sorry I can't be of more help.

    PRAYING!!!!

  4. Lori I am so happy to hear the good news and will be praying for you and these little ones.

    I'll ponder on some names.

With our first twins they were peanut 1 and 2, with our Zac and Evan they were my lil 'peas in my pod but called them lil' bean 1 and lil' bean 2.
But I'm really not all that creative. I'm sure you will find just the right names for these littles!

    Hugs and prayers,
    Heather (heathershope - HP)

  7. Sticking with a Dr. Seuss theme...Thing 1 and Thing 2?!

Hoping and praying that two babies come home with you, Thing 1 and Thing 2 costumes would be cute for Halloween one day. :)

Or famous duos...Lucy & Ethel, Bonnie & Clyde, Felix & Oscar, Tweedledee & Tweedledum, Captain & Tenille, Batman & Robin, Salt & Pepper, Moose & Squirrel, Bacon & Eggs, Bert & Ernie, Pea & Carrot, Darryl & Darryl, Charlie Brown & Snoopy, Frankie & Johnny...I'm winding down. :)

  10. Praying for you...

All I can think of are Greek letters (from all those sorority years..ha!)...Beta, Pi, Phi (I was a Pi Phi=), Chi, Delta

My friend named her children after gems: Amethyst, Emerald, Jasper...but those are not very neutral names...

  11. The line from "Horton Hears a Who" of "a person's a person, no matter how small" is so appropriate. So I like the continuation of the Dr. Seuss theme. As mentioned, Thing 1 and Thing 2, as well as Horton, Morton, JoJo, Maysie, Green Egg, Ham, Yertle, Mack, Norval, etc. I assume you'd prefer non-gender-specific; this list may help: http://www.primate.wisc.edu/people/hamel/seuss.html.

It's 1:05pm, so I'm thinking good thoughts right this moment. Eight-celled, Grade 1 embryos? Is it too early to label your children as overachievers?

  25. Jellyfish, anemonies, and corals, are just a few of the beautifully-named sea creatures that form symbiotic relationships with fish. You could give them a name like that to keep a strong name connection with Matthew.
