Miney, Moe or both?

To GOD be the glory!!!!

I have been feeling really, really blech all week. The words food aversion don't even come close to matching the way my stomach has felt. Just the term "toss your cookies" makes me want to toss my cookies.

Probably because I am pregnant.

With a beta of 806.

Matthew's was 180.

The next beta is Monday.

And all I have to say is that there truly is a joy in my heart that surpasses all earthly understanding. To be able to say that I am thrilled and unbelievably happy while I know that my sweet little Matthew's room is empty during what would have been his naptime just doesn't seem logical, appropriate or right.

And yet, for the little life or lives that I have been given the privilege of mothering and hopefully raising, I have nothing, nothing, nothing but joy.

That, friends, is truly, only and solely the miracle given by the Hand of God.

  2. Praises in my heart for this news, tears in my eyes that Matthew cannot be in your arms today to share in the moment. I will be praying every day that this pregnancy is as easy as can be and that you and John are at peace with the process.

  3. Just saw your post on facebook a few minutes ago and my first thought was, "Look at what the Lord has done!!". I know you are praising him as well.
    Psalm 66:1-5 was what entered my mind right away:

    1 Shout with joy to God, all the earth!
    2 Sing the glory of his name;
    make his praise glorious!
    3 Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds!
    So great is your power
    that your enemies cringe before you.
    4 All the earth bows down to you;
    they sing praise to you,
    they sing praise to your name."
    5 Come and see what God has done,
    how awesome his works in man's behalf!

  31. Lori--
    I stumbled across your blog several months ago, after you lost Matthew. I have been a silent reader for all that time, but I felt compelled to leave a message today to tell you I have been praying for you and your husband and am so happy for you! I have a (nearly) 15 month old that "they" said I would never have and just had an ectopic pregnancy so I know the joy and sadness, although not on yur level. Anyway, I am so happy for you! Congratulations!!

  43. Lori,

    I've been thinking of you today and waiting to be able to check this. I am so incredibly happy for you. My first beta with my twins was 96, 2nd 227...my Dr. didn't think they were both there and then...there they were, two little heartbeats. So you go girl! Your numbers sound great. Miney & Moe, Go..Go..Go!

    Thank you Lord.
    Love,
    Kelly.

  45. I can't remember how I came across your blog but I've been quietly reading and grieving for you. I wasn't sure the right words (and I know there aren't any) so I just prayed for you and thought about your baby boy. Now, I just want to comment and say how happy I am for you for this positive test and hope that you can experience peace, comfort, strength (and the closeness of Matthew's memory) during these next months. Congratulations. Matthew is a big brother!

  47. Congratulations x 1000! *Such* joy - I scared my daughter a little at lunch when I read your post and the waterworks immediately started. So what you, John, family, and friends are feeling must be indescribable.

    I hope this greatest-of-blessings and the happy anticipation of Monday's appointment make the memorial service slightly easier to bear. And meant in the nicest way possible, I kind of hope you continue to feel lousy the next 8-10 weeks. Nausea = reassurance! :)

  48. Congrats from a former SoMDer!!!

    I have been reading your blog on and off the last few months but I certainly picked the right night to check up on you!

    Pretty soon you'll be reading blogs during 1am feedings just like me! :)

    Praying for good health and growth!

    Who'd have thought you'd ever be thrilled to be so sick - ha! Puke on!!!
