Matthew's Going To Have.....

...a sister or a brother!

This morning, we saw one sweet little fluttering of a precious little heart and I was just so, so thankful. Dr. K said everything looked lovely and we'll go back in two weeks for another ultrasound and to graduate!
This baby looks so different than Matthew did, even at this early stage. Matthew looked like little jelly bean. Little Miney looks like a diamond ring!! In fact, when Dr. K was showing us what was what, that's what he said, and the heart beat was where the diamond was. It was precious.

And miraculous.

And scary.

It's been a wonderful but hard day. I'm THANKFUL that I have so many people praying for us. I am SO thankful that we have doctors and nurses who reassure us. As happy and joyful and hopeful as we are...this is hard.

I asked John to give me one good reason to believe this baby would be born and would live and we'd get to bring her home and raise her.

He said it happens all the time, every day.

Babies die all the time, every day too.

One million and four babies can be born and only one dies....and if you are one of the one million and four, that's FABULOUS.

When you're the one million and fifth...the others don't come close to reassuring you.

So, if you pray, and you pray for me, please pray for my peace. I am wracked with worry and anxiety, and trust me, I know that's not good for me or the baby. I purposely and deliberately make choices and try to live as if this little one will also live and come home with us.

But in my heart, I know that it may not happen. So please, pray for me and my anxiety and pray for my little diamond ring--that she or he grows healthy and strong and lets her or his mommy hold, cuddle and kiss her (or him)!

Without further ado, here's Miney...

Cute, huh?

  7. Oh Lori, I am sobbing. I was sitting here thinking about Madysens upcoming birthday (sat) and how so many years ago on this night we were awaiting her arrival. She came in with struggles and was flown away to childrens where their NICU saved her precious little life, I am now filled with anxiety and worry that soon she wont be my little girl and that kids at this age are so mean, and praying I have given her all I have to prepare her for the world and the difficult years of self discovery she has ahead. Its such a different anxiety than yours but its a mothers anxiety. Prior to Madysens birth as you know we too went thru the loss of a child and I shared that anxiety all thru my pregnancy with her right up til when she delivered, I thought, here we go again. Do you know I have very little memory now of My pregnancy with Mady, NOT ONE photo of me pregnant with her, the only hospital pic I have is one of her as they intibated her and had just announced CODE BLUE L&D thru the hospital. She fought, Miney will too. Those little monkeys are tough. I pray god will give you some peace and comfort during this pregnancy so you do not like I have any regret that you may have missed out on all the specialness this time is full of. I know Miss Miney will be with us curley hair and all and maybe in a few years Miss Miney and Miss Mady can meet and compare notes on their crazy mommas :) I am SOO happy for you. Treasure Each moment, (I have no doubt you will). And I cant wait to see your belly :) Much Love!

  8. Not just cute - BEAUTIFUL! Miney TOTALLY looks like a little diamond ring. I do pray for peace for you, Lori. Spend all your energy on growing that baby, and maybe you won't have any left to worry. :)

  9. I love her already! One of mine looked like that at 6w5d, the other looked like a blob...so, maybe it is one of each! At any rate, friend I pray for peace for you ALL THE TIME! Rest assured, you are being prayed for by so many. So happy for you and John. What a wonderful second child she will be.

  11. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you;not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

Claim this promise and take it as command from our Lord. Of course you are fearful but He is the God of that which is fearfully and wonderfully made inside you!

You will keep Lori in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You. Because she trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3

  15. There is NO DOUBT that if "she's" diamond ring shaped, she's a girl -- right?? :-) Oh Lori, this baby is such another beautiful miracle of God's and another blessing in your life. The verse Kim quoted to you came to my mind to. Peace can only come from one source, and I pray with everything I have that He will give you the peace you need to get through each day.

And DARN, I just KNEW it would be twins!

  18. I've been waiting all day for this post, and I think I've checked every hour!! :) CONGRATULATIONS DEAR FRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!! And OH MY GOSH...does she ever look like a diamond!! :) That's adorable!!!!!

We will all be praying for you peace. Those of us who have gone through the tragedy of having a child die and then go on to another pregnancy know all too well the fears that infiltrate the mind. How the enemy works double time to create fear and anxiety and doubt...and distrust in God. That's the enemy's hope. But we will all stand firm in prayer for your peace so that you will enjoy each and ever second, minute, hour, day, week, month...until your baby is home in your arms!

Hugs to you my dear friend...and give little Miney a pat for me! :)

  19. Another photo of Baby Ennis! Congrats (again) to you, John, and big brother Matthew. I'm thankful that modern medicine gives a glimpse into something so miraculous - and reassuring. A diamond ring...perhaps your daughter is already letting you know she's going to have expensive taste?

Among other things, I always ask for peace of mind and spirit for you and John, no matter what comes your way. Per your request, I'll continue with just that, confident that Miney is one of the one million and four.

  27. Oh Lori, I don't know how it would be easy to do, but I do hope that somehow God's peace fills your soul so that you don't lose a single moment of this pregnancy to anxiety. You deserve the freedom from fear to sit back, plaster a huge grin on your face and love every minute of this. I am sure Matthew is dacing a happy little jig!

Can wait to watch Miney grow!!

  31. So beautiful!! And every time I take my own worries and anxieties to God, I pray for you and your little one too. I want this so bad for me, you, Katy, and Amy (not sure if you read her blog), who are all due in January. It's so hard to have faith. Know I'm always here for a chat if you need it, and I can pretty much guarantee I will understand exactly what you are feeling, no matter what those feelings are!

  32. Lori,

As I look at your little "diamond" I am reminded of what another BLM said on her blog:

She said "the road is long and difficult, but you have to keep diving for diamonds"

I will never forget her quote...and I am so happy you have your "diamond".

Never fret, we will be right here at your side to usher you through the emotions that come with this journey. You can count on me to be praying daily for you daily.

    Sending you love and prayers,
    Andrea

  33. What a perfect picture! Embrace each day! I know it is so much easier said than done, and I will continue to remind you, but, "Worry does not add to your peace fro tomorrow, but it does drain your strength from today!" I am praying for you RIGHT now!

    Father,
Thank you so much for this beautiful, amazing gift that Lori has been given! Heartbeats in bellies are nothing short of miracles here on Earth! Please wrap Lori in your arms and let her feel your serurity and peace. Remind her, every moment if need be, that You are not only right by her side, but also in control. Please remind her to give that precious baby to you every single day! You are an amazing, powerful, good God and we are honored to worship you! Thank you for everything you have in store for Lori's precious baby and her growing family!
    Amen!

  38. Sweetie it’s always scary every time I had a child I felt the same way. This last experience has taught me that all things happen for a reason and that you just have to enjoy the ride. I never thought that my son would be born 2 months early, but he is growing and healthy and I am blessed. It’s never a guarantee but it’s worth the risk every time. I pray for you as you take this journey and wish you the very best.

  39. Oh I'm a praying Lori! I've been praying non-stop. I will pray that God grants you peace to enjoy this pregnancy. It has to be the most difficult thing though, to not have anxiety. After what you have gone through I would think you are totally normal to have those what if's going in the back of your head. I'm here with you Lori, whatever you need please don't hesitate to ask....specific prayers, whatever.

    XOXO
